oh yeah and this is me outside the tower of london - it is really quite huge !! and that is definately not shopping in the bag in front...

these photos are of me in Hyde park - where i got attacked by a squirrel !! (it started climbing up my leg), and the other very un-flattering photo is of me on the open top bus - it was very cold as you may have guessed from the face i'm pulling. but it was great to see all that things that you see on tv.

okay well i am back from my trip to london - which was great. i saw all the tourist things... and we went to two shows Cirque du soleil at the royal albert hall, and the blue man group at the new london theatre. both were fantastic ! because we were only there for like 3 days we only really go to see the main attractions but not get into them because we would have run out of money and time. but we did go on the london eye which is one of the photos and the other one is me outside buckingham palace - liz wasnt in so we didnt get afternoon tea.

after dad had left we did a walk into leeds - little did i know it was 10 miles and would take us 2 hours !! very tired tonight and a little sore. but it was a nice walk along the canals and saw lots of wildlife. At the end of it we stopped for a nice burger and we got to catch the bus home.

so today dad left to fly home although once he got through all the traffic he found out that his plane had been delayed two and a half hours. i hope he made all his connections and got home okay.

okay so yesterday we made the big drive from Elgin to Edinburgh... we drove down through
the mountains and it has just snowed the night before - it was so lovely. i think it is my favourite bit so far. and just to let you all know it is currently snowing as i type!!! i am about to go out and have a play.

well this was our last night in Elgin/Burghead - and we went out for dinner with jennifer
and Brian and their friends Brenda and Donald. this is Brenda, jennifer and myself... it was a lovely meal.

This is my cousin Laura with Frank outside her pub in Aberdeen. As you may guess by the name it is just on the harbour. It is also haunted - Laura gets tricks played on her by the ghosts.

we went for a walk through the woods and back along the beach at burghead. the sunset was just lovely.

this is the Clavie which is a long tradition that occurs in Burghead on the 'old' new year eve. it is a big half barrel with tar and wood in it and they carry it around the town and give certain places a new bit of wood/fire to light the fires after they have been cleaned out for the year. They then take it to a hill on and let it burn by throwing diesel over it. (sorry bruce if i have got any of this wrong). all in all it was a very intersting night - would never see it in Australia, too many bushfires would start.

well this is me in the background and the village which was unearthed when the sand dunes washed away in a storm. its too around 5000 years old (give or take a few years) but as you may have guess it was cold and windy too - the ocean behind was pretty wild that day too. we had to come back on a later ferry when we were coming home because the earlier one had to be cancelled because of the weather. it was an amazing place - not too many people and a few shops ! spent a lot of money up there - well i had ot help the local economy !! hehe. have lots of pictures up there but you will get to see them when i get back

well sorry it has taken me so long to get a post on here but i have been to the end of the earth and back. we have spent the last week or so in Ornkey, which is a group of islands at the north of scotland. it was a lovely place but a little windy and cold. but we were lucky we had a few good days of weather to get out and see the sights. there are these stones on the island that are called standing stones or broger ring (stones in a circle) but they have been like that for 5000 or so years. the first picture is on me at the ring of broger - it was very cold and windy that day and i was hiding behind the stone to keep warm. the second picture is of me in the italian chapel which was left there from the POW camp. it was just like a bunker with a facade put on the front and amazingly painted inside.

new years day we went for a walk round to a beach and it was sooooooo cold the wind was blowing... so we went inside a pub to warm up.... these people are crazy to do things like this on a cold day!

well new years eve we went to a ceilidh which is a scottish version of a bush dance it had a bag piper and fiddlers...
marie and i are in one of the photos and the other on is of one of the bag piper. also there was a big raffle and we won a bottle of wine, a hot chocolate mug and an expensive bottle of whiskey - which was well done!

well on new years eve morning we went for a big walk around burghead (where we are now staying in mhairi and bruce's holiday cottage) this is the same harbour where those crazy people were jumping in !!!

these we some friends of jennifer's whose daughter birthday was 30th of december and on the friday she got to go for a ride with all her girlfriends in the pink limo for an hour. looked pretty cool though !!!
